Robert Howard allegedly was taken from a home in the 3500 block of Mark Twain Street and was shot by on-duty Memphis Police Officer Patric Ferguson. The men had known each other. Ferguson, armed with his personal handgun, encountered Howard outside the home and forced him into the back of a squad car. Ferguson then drove less than a half mile away, where he allegedly shot and killed Howard.
