Patches Holmes reportedly was wanted on a parole violation. Police said they recognized him inside a car. Officers tried to stop the car, but the driver kept going. Officers then deployed spike strips and the car came to a stop, and the three occupants got out and ran. Two officers found the wanted man beneath a back porch of a nearby home. Police said they ordered him to show them his hands, but he pulled out a gun and pointed it at the officers, who shot and killed him.
