A 31-year-old man had an open warrant out for his arrest and had came to the ex-girlfriend's apartment about 10:20 p.m. Christmas Eve. He allegedly threatened to shoot up the woman's home. When officers arrived, the suspect had already left. A deputy who had responded to the call on Christmas Eve learned the man had returned, and the officer went to the home, reportedly hoping to arrest the man. When the officer arrived at the apartment the second time, the man allegedly fired multiple shots at the officer, who shot and killed him.
