Police received a report of an in-progress home invasion at a home around 10:20 p.m. An armed woman had entered the home and threatened the residents. Officers responded to the home, where all but one of the occupants had escaped. The lone remaining resident, an elderly male, was still inside the home with the woman. A short time later, Lyana Gilmore came out of the home and was confronted by officers. The officers ordered her to drop her firearm, but she failed to do so, and police shot and killed her.
