Police stopped Locklear in a pickup truck. Locklear had reportedly fled from another vehicle earlier that morning. Deputies had run the plates on one vehicle and found he was wanted on a number of domestic abuse charges. Locklear fled on foot, and police claim he was armed with a gun. A deputy eventually caught up with Locklear, who allegedly pointed a gun at the deputy. The deputy shot and killed Locklear.
