Officers responded to reports of a drunken driver leaving a bar. Multiple people called police stating they were the victims of hit and runs. Police eventually stopped Weigand and attempted to place him in cuffs. Weigan allegedly jerked away from officers, hitting an officer in the face, and getting back into his vehicle and fleeing. Officers began a pursuit and eventually cornered Weigand's vehicle. Police claim Weigand exited the car and pointed a handgun at officers. Two officers shot and killed Weigand.
