A motorist called the police reporting a man was throwing rocks at passing vehicles. A deputy arrived at the scene, and found the man allegedly smashing the window of a parked car with a tire iron. The deputy ordered the man to stop and drop the tire iron, but the man allegedly began walking toward the interstate. The deputy then drove ahead to stop traffic as the man was walking on the freeway. The deputy repeatedly asked the man to drop the tire iron and get off the freeway, and at one point the man allegedly ran at the deputy with the tire iron in hand. The deputy shot and killed the man.
