Meigs county courthouse is a place of corruption on various levels. Community Corrections staff are opening urine screens before probationers even come to their office. Then they are failing for substances they have not done. And the results are extreme amounts to make the probationer look as bad as possible. They are even encouraged and getting away with demeaning behavior toward probationers and lying about a probationer is perfectly fine. Prosecutors office can make up things as they go. Stating bond conditions that were not on the original bond and getting away with it. If you can pay the 10 % bond and get gps you can go out of state and work but if you can't and work local you just have to lose your job. And the public defender or court appointed counsel is a joke. They will not point out any discrepancies about the probation department or the paperwork from the prosecutors office. They will do as little as possible for you so you get to sit in jail for invalid reasons. Nobody will do anything or say anything. And if you file a complaint with the court it just gets brushed away like it never existed. Seems to me that the main goal of the Meigs county common pleas court is to ruin as many lives as possible as quickly as possible. This place even has a sheriff that was fired from BCI and his word in court is useless. Why are these small towns getting away with this? Why is it ok?
