About 8:15 a.m. Thursday, U.S. marshals with a fugitives task force came to a home to arrest Eric Phillips on drug possession and other warrants including being a felon in possession of a weapon, police said. After 2 p.m. Friday Phillips was found dead inside the home after an officer shot and killed him. Phillips was found with two gunshot wounds, but it was unclear if one was self-inflicted, police said.
