Police responded to a burglary in progress at a home at about 1:40 p.m. The caller said Alaina Burns had walked into his unlocked home and barricaded herself in one of the rooms. The room contained several firearms. Burns allegedly fired at least one round inside the home and then left through the back door and made her way to the roof where she allegedly pointed a gun in the officer's direction. A trooper shot and killed her.
