At 7:49 p.m., a deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle. The vehicle did not stop, and the deputy pursued a high speed chase through north San Angelo. During the pursuit, a Texas DPS trooper joined the chase. The vehicle pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle collided with the DPS trooper's car. Following the collision, the driver left the three other people inside the vehicle and reportedly fled on foot with a shotgun into an alleyway. A resident called 911 and reported a man running with a shotgun. A sheriff's deputy and a San Angelo police officer found the person in the backyard of a residence, and gunfire was exchanged, and the man was shot and killed.
