Police tried to stop 28-year-old Daniel George Boak on a misdemeanor charge for failing a drug test, but he refused to stop. The officers continued to follow Boak, but they did not initiate a pursuit, police said. Boak got off at the Glebe Road exit, but he ran into heavy traffic. When the officers approached his pickup truck on foot, he put the vehicle in drive and struck one of the officers. Officers then shot and killed Boak and freed the trapped officer.
