A Vermont State Police trooper and a Richmond police officer shot and killed Benjamin Gregware, police said. The shooting occurred at about 3:51 p.m. during a traffic stop on the side of the southbound lanes near mile marker 69. The man was the sole occupant of the car that was stopped.Police said Gregware was armed with a handgun at the time of the killing.
