Police suspected Christopher Louras had fired two shots at the police station around 5:30 a.m. After the shooting, police used video surveillance to identify the car. He was spotted near the Rutland Shopping Plaza around 7 a.m. Police began a short pursuit with Louras that ended near the Amtrak station. Louras reportedly exchanged gunfire with officers using a rifle. He was shot and killed by Officers Adam Lucia, Kenneth Mosher, and Elias Anderson.
