CNN reporter Omar Jimenez was just arrested on live television just for walking while black in Minneapolis. He had a camera crew with him and the entire camera crew including a CNN producer were also arrested. There is still a CNN correspondent on the scene and that reporter describes being treated much better. The only noticeable difference between Omar and this other guy is that Omar is black while the other guy is white.
As you can see, Jimenez looks almost like just another masked black person in Minneapolis, but was clearly identified as a CNN reporter with a camera crew.
CNN's legal department released a statement calling for their immediate release and stating that the arrest violates their First Amendment rights.
Meanwhile, Derek Chauvin, the ex-cop that murdered George Floyd remains at large.
