Baltimore Police Sgt. James Lloyd was arrested three days ago for kidnapping and extorting a contractor because he was not happy with his work. The contractor had done work on Lloyd's patio, but Lloyd did not like it at all and demanded a refund. When the contractor would not give him the refund he wanted, Lloyd approached him with a folder full of background information on him and threatened to arrest him for driving to his house with a suspended license unless he gave him his money back. Lloyd than used his department vehicle to take the contractor to the bank after which the contractor gave Lloyd a check for $3,500.
A judge denied bail for Lloyd calling him a danger to public safety.
