Around 10:38 p.m. someone inside a home called 911. On the call, a woman was heard screaming and crying, while a man was heard "making threats." Officers heard screaming when they arrived at the home and forced their way into the home to stop what they said was an immediate threat to the woman's safety. As the officers entered through the front door, a woman ran out of the home, and a man appeared in a hallway with the air pistol and reportedly fired at the officers. Four officers shot and killed Cruz.
