About 1:15 p.m., a deputy and a Gilbert police officer were attempting to locate a person who was wanted on a warrant. They found a vehicle believed to be connected with that person, and an individual exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The officers pursued. Jeffrey Golnick was shot and killed, although details as to what precipitated the killing were withheld by police.
