At approximately 2:30 p.m. officers were dispatched to investigate the report of a person pointing a firearm at neighbors. The officers determined that Derick L. Powe had been acting erratically throughout the day and fired at least one shot. Powe drove by while officers were talking to the neighbors. At approximately 3 p.m. the officers contacted Powe and ordered him to walk to the officers with his hands visible. Powe reportedly presented a firearm, and he was shot and killed by the officers.
