Officers were called around 7 p.m. for a domestic disturbance in which a minor had been stabbed in the neck. Another family member allegedly had been stabbed by Arthur Harbison earlier in the day, but he had fled before police arrived. On their second trip, they made contact with Harbison, and a fight began before he ran into a nearby field as officers chased him.
