About 11:30 a.m. LAPD Gang and Narcotics Division officers and an FBI task force were searching for the suspect at a motel. The man, a gang member who had an outstanding warrant, was armed with a firearm when authorities found him in the motel's parking lot, police said. In a gunfight, the FBI agent was wounded and the man was killed. He was suspected of killing one relative and wounding another at a family party the month prior.
