The alleged victim, the man's estranged girlfriend, got out safely, and some evacuations were ordered in the neighborhood. At one point, the man fired shots at police, who returned fire. No officers were hurt. Police found Eric Bogart dead inside the residence. It was unclear whether he had been killed by police or shot himself.
