According to the Chickasha Police Department, officers responded to a home after receiving a disturbance call. Police said they were informed the involved suspect had a gun. Officers entered the home and approached a room. Vananda and another family member were inside, and Vananda grabbed a gun. He exchanged gunfire with an officer and was killed.
