Bell Police Department personnel and East Los Angeles Station (sheriff's) personnel received 911 calls regarding a domestic dispute at a local convenience store, police said. The man had argued with and assaulted a woman, who had a child with her, at a fast food restaurant and then walked next door to a convenience store, where the dispute continued. When Bell police officers arrived, they encountered a man armed with a knife. He refused to comply with the officers' commands and advanced toward the officers with the knife, Ramos and was shot and killed.
