Deputies were sent to conduct a health and welfare check at the residence, police said. The shooting occurred during the encounter and while awaiting the arrival of involuntary commitment papers. Campbell allegedly pulled out a weapon and the deputies fatally shot her, authorities said. Campbell had also reportedly threatened to hurt her caregiver and herself.
