Police responded to a domestic disturbance call from his wife Taquisha, who said Brown, a Special Operations Army Sergeant, was having a mental "episode" in their home. Police said Brown exited the house and fired one shot from a handgun, then ran behind a building. When he allegedly reappeared with the gun, an officer shot him once in the abdomen with a rifle.
