Philadelphia Police Officer Gregory Campbell has been suspended and charged with several felonies for plowing through a house with his vehicle while drunk and off duty. Campbell's vehicle struck two people who were in the home at the time. One of the victims was critically injured. The charges against him include driving under the influence, criminal mischief, and aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.
Gregory Campbell is 27 years old and had been with the Philadelphia Police Department for two years. Police say that Campbell was drinking heavily at several bars before the accident including one at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge. Eventually his car went airborne, crashed into the home, and pinned a 53 year old woman underneath it after killing one dog, injuring another, and injuring a 45 year old man.
A public records search did not turn up any prior legal problems for Campbell.
