The Brooklyn Center Police officer that shot Daunte Wright has been identified as Kim Potter. Potter is a 26 year BCPD veteran who got her license in 1995. She is now on paid administrative leave. She was reportedly the president of the Brooklyn Center Police Officers Association. UPDATE: Officer Kimberly Potter and Chief Tim Gannon both resigned today.
UPDATE: KARE 11 News Anchor Gia Vang tweeted a screenshot of Potter's resignation letter in which she said "I have loved every minute of being a police officer" (https://twitter.com/Gia_Vang/status/1382030415263830023/photo/1). From that we can conclude that she loved every minute of of killing Daunte Wright because she killed him while she was working as a police officer and every minute of being an police officer included every minute she was with Daunte Wright.
UPDATE: Kim Potter was arrested for manslaughter today.
