Cincinnati Police officer Justin Shields was arrested for drunk driving on April 14th after refusing to take a breathalyzer and failing a field sobriety test. He seemed like he thought all he'd have to do is flash his badge and his fellow officer would give him a pass, but he encountered a rare breed of state trooper who actually does his job when encountering fellow law enforcement officers breaking the law.
Justin Shields was assigned to CPD District 4. Media reports are silent as to Shields' current status with the CPD. We assume he at least on leave pending the outcome of the case. That is how things usually work. Whether it is paid or unpaid leave we don't know.
