Avon Police officer Alexander Howell was arrested last night on charges of strangulation, criminal confinement and domestic violence battery on a spouse. He was booked into the Hendricks County Jail and later released on just $2,500 bond. He worked as an officer in Avon from 2015 until he resigned last September for unknown reasons.
According to media reports, Howell claims to have been too drunk to remember what happened. His wife is accusing him of getting mad at her for allegedly slamming a door, throwing stuff at her, and putting her in a chokehold making it difficult for her to breathe.
