Ottumwa Police Officer Jordan Woodward has been arrested on domestic assault charges for allegedly choking a woman. Police responded to a 911 call in Albia to find a woman claiming to have been choked by Woodward. He was charged with domestic assault while impeding airflow (felony) and criminal mischief (misdemeanor). He posted bond and was released. The incident took place last Thursday.
The Ottumwa Police Department placed Woodward on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the case. The arrest was made by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
According to public records, Woodward is 23 years old and a registered Republican.
